Journal Cover - EurJic Front Cover

I began this work with the idea highlighted by the authors that the Cover should indicate that the paper was about "porphyrin, DNA and protein".
I started drawing some sketchs on the paper, trying a simple rule of thirds to make the first composition. The 3D layout was then created with a simple explanation of it. Once approved, I started with the DNA structure that was thought to have an organic shape rather than an accurate molecular structure. The protein surface was imported to Blender and cleaned to reduce mesh density and fix some issues. Other porphyrin molecules were placed according to its chemical behavior explained in the paper.
