The Ring Goes to the Sea

What if the One Ring was thrown into the sea?
I created this scene with the Nodevember prompt "oceanic wonder", though the ring (a torus) was scaled manually. I started the scene with the valley and anemones to create the underwater environment. The volumetric lighting and particles were then added and for the 'wonder' of the prompt, I was looking for something that could be quickly recognized by almost anyone. The ring shader was initially a problem, because it uses an emissive shader, since there isn't enough light to shine a metallic shader. I ran a quick smoke simulation and used it to soften its brightness (otherwise it would look too 'flat') and to create the idea of motion to the ring. I used Photoshop for the compositing.
